My dad always had a smile for everyone, He personally knew Sen Byrd ,Ed Sullivan,Ted Mack,nyc Pol Commissioner Murphy in the 60s,Soupy Sales, an actress named Dagmar,a blonde 40s goddess type. He loved the old stand by The Old Rugged Cross,country music,swimming,cooking out. Most of all he loved the Rairden family,Honaker,Hill,Noffsinger,life in wva, He could charm the pants off an angry elephant,and was known to anger slowly,but when angered be prepared. You could find yourself hung up on a coat rack or wearing his Right knuckles. I remember dad would put the radio on at midnight so he could pick up the Grand OLe Opry. He was quick to give money away,loans never got repaid to him. He would drive the whole way home to huntington wv to see the family. I loved going with him and mom. I remember dad bought me honey buns everyday or twinkies on his way home from work. Our door was always open to friends in need. He had a hot temper though.. He and I both get a really scarey look on our faces when really mad. MOm always said the look could scare you to death alone. Dad was in the army,never got over his experiences in the war. He would scream and punch mom in his sleep thinking she was the enemy. My kids adored him,so did I I wish he were still here. He loved his sister Eleanor Cremeans,brother Charles,and donald, i am sure he would be making up different words to songs and driving mom crazy if he were still here. May he rest in peace
