Adele Olson

It is with deep sadness that the family announces our loved mother Adele Olson passed away following a brief illness in Calgary Alberta on October 6, 2010. Adele was born in Port Arthur on September 26, 1931 to the late Salomon and Vienno Kanto. Adele spent her childhood years growing up in Beardmore and moved to Port Arthur with her family. She did many different things in her life, as a waitress at the Hoito as a young woman, cooking on the boats on the Great Lakes and owner operator of a taxi company in Vancouver. She loved to play cards and was a talented painter Her favourite was sketching portraits. Adele was predeceased by her husband Gunnar Olson in 2004, parents Salomon and Vienno, her son Timothy and brother Allan. She is survived by her brother Edwin, sons Ken (Lynn) Peterson, Brian (Vicki) Peterson, Clifton Kanto and David Baer. Grandchildren Karen, Kelly and Krista, Dennis, Jennifer and Lucas, Justina and Joshua, Mariah and Amber. 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.Cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of Adele's life is planned. In lieu of flowers donations to the George Jeffrey Treatment Centre would be appreciated.
