About Adolf Breslauer
Per Ilona Bossanyi:
Bernàth and Regina's son was Adolf, and it was he who at some point changed the family given name from Bereslav to the more Austrian/Germanic-sounding Breslauer (perhaps to lower the family's profile as "for- eign", at a time when Austria rather than Hungary held the power under the Hapsburgs). Which is presuma- bly why you have his wife Ernesztine's surname down as Breslauer: her maiden name was Boschan. But after the Hapsburgs established (nominally) a more equal partnership between the two countries, Hungarian names became more respectable and Adolf changed his family name again - this time "Hungarifying" it to Bossanyi, which was similar to his wife's maiden name Boschan. So she became Bossanyi as well, and that was the name my grandfather and his brother were born with (in 1891 and 1890).
