Agatha Katherine Gross

Agatha K. (Vonfeldt) Gross, 92, of Hays, Kansas, passed away September 13, 2017 at her home in Hays.

Agatha was born October 18, 1924 in Park, Kansas, the daughter of Augusta and Celestine (Kinderknecht) Vonfeldt. She grew up in Gorham, Kansas and graduated from Gorham High School. She then graduated from Northwest Kansas Area Vocational-Technical School with a degree in Nursing.

Agatha was united in marriage to Fredinand Gross. This union was blessed with three children; Michael, Wesley and Teresa. Fred preceded her in death in 1971.

Agatha was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Good Samaritan for over 23 Years. She enjoyed golfing, playing Bridge; and watching baseball especially the Royals.

Agatha's surviving family include her 2 sons; one daughter; four brothers, and one siste; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Robert Vonfeldt and two sisters, Viola Walton and Augusta Nunn.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 28, 2018 at St. Mary, Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Burial of ashes will follow at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Russell. No visitation being held. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary is in charge of these arrangements.
