About Agnes Anderson
Born at Fenton Barns, near Dirleton, East Lothian Scotland to Hugh Bertram and Isabella Mack. Hugh was the farm stewart. Agnes married Gibert Anderson in Dirleton June 22 1871. Agnes's entire family, including 8 sibs and her parents came to Canada in a trickle between 1860 and 1891. Agnes and her family were the last to emigrate. They appear in the 1891 Scots census and left for Canada shortly thereafter with their children. Their children include Isabella Jane, Thomas Gilbert, Hugh Bertram (died young), and Christina Anna. They initially lived in Peterborough where some of her family also resided. After her husband's death at age 58 in 1893 in Peterborough Ontario, Agnes lived with her unmarried daughters, Chrissie and Bella, who ran a greenhouse and flower shop in Ancaster. Grandmother of four children.
