Memorial number 649 Dodgson to Dodgson Registered 30th January 1738 at ten in the Forenoon An Indenture of bargain and sale bearing date the 30th day of December in the year of our Lord God 1738 made between Agnes Dodgson of Paythorne in the parish of Gisburn in the County of York widow relict and sole executrix of Robert Dodgson late of Paythorne within the township of Paythorne deceased on the one part and Edmund Dodgson of Paythorne aforesaid second son of the said Robert Dodgson deceased begotten on the body of Agnes Dodgson on the other part. Of or concerning all that messuage and dwelling house lately erected wherein the said Agnes Dodgson do now dwell and inhabit. And also all that barn and stables garths and gardens adjoining thereunto belonging. And also all those several closes enclosures penes and parcels of land arable meadow and pasture ground called and known by the several names of the Howits Wifs Croft The Green the Two Ridges and Croft adjoining the Long Chappell. The Chappell Ingg the Far Chappell and the Larber, the little croft with the barnes therein standing, the Wheatfields and Roughfield and the acrebarr formerly in the two closes called the Handax the Little Croft or Stack Garth adjoining to the north side of the messuage wherein one Christopher Langcaster now dwelleth. And also all those three moor closes called the Lind and Ing and the Lower Moor and one Horsegale or pasture for one horse. Maize of Gelding upon a common or pasture called Peel Moor Close which said premises were formerly amongst other lands purchased off Richard Hewitt Henry Hewitt the younger Thomas Corlas and Thomas Turner and are now situate being and lying within the Town Townships precincts or territories of Paythorne aforesaid and contain by estimation 30 acres (be the same more or less) . Which said indenture is witnessed by Henry Hewitt of Paythorne Christopher Lancaster of the same Robert Dodgson of Paythorne and Richard Tetlow of Gisburn all within the County of York.
