Mrs van Niekerk, who went up as Mrs John Moodie. Her children: Julia, Grey, Richard & Manica. "I had the honour to present Manicaland with the first little girl to be born there. So we called her Manica. She is now Mrs Harmer of Chipinga".
Agnes Manica Harmer, nee Moodie (daughter of John Benjamin and Margaret Agnes Moodie was the first white baby girl to be born in Manicaland hence her name. An incident of her childhood is given on page 150 of "Experiences of Rhodesia's Pioneer Women," by Jeannie M. Boggie. On Roll of Women Pioneers.
