Riobert Sheppard of Pesemarch in Sussex, son of Richard Sheppard and Anne Atesbery,

husband firstly of Elizebeth Wells, by whom he had

1. Allexander, married Elizabeth Covert

and secondly of Agnes Byrchett, by whom he had

1. Martha, married Herbert Whitfield
2. Robert, married Elizabeth James
3. Elizabeth, married 1) John Taton 2) John Pack
4. Mary and
5. Bridgett.[1]

Robartt Sheparde married Anys Byrchett at Rye, Sussex, England on 1 July 1555.[2]

Martha, daughter, married Herbert Whitfield, they had a son Ralph (bapt. 1588, d 1645), served in Parliament. In 1634 he (Ralph) became a serjeant-at-law, and a year later was raised to king’s serjeant, when he was also knighted. [3]
