According to Albert Borcher's Death Notice (Depot: KAB; Source: MOOC; Vol. No.: 6/9/630; Ref. No.: 3696) he was born c.1852, Cape Town, the son of Godfrey Borcher and Hannah [sic]. He worked as a Chemist's Assistant at Wesselton Mine Hospital, Kimberley. Albert was married to Alice, and they had six children: Hannah, Godfrey, Herman, Albert, Collins, and Alice. Albert Borcher snr. died on 9 July 1909 in Kimberley Hospital, Kimberley.
