Albert J. Collier, aged 54, dropped dead at ten o'clock p. m. Monday, October 3, while attending a birthday party at the home of Charles Stiger, two and 1/2 miles northwest of Bellflower.
Mr. Collier died very suddenly. He had been talking with friends in the Stiger home and turned to go into another room, when he fell to the floor. A physician was called and stated that death had been instantaneous. Mr. Collier had been failing in health for several years but at the time was as well as usual.
He was born in February, 1878, near Lawrenceburg, a son of John and Elizabeth Collier. He resided at Lawrenceburg until twenty three years of age.
He was united in marriage to Lilly Sacket of Guilford, Ind., on November 13, 1901. They moved to Bellflower about twenty years ago.
He had been employed by Gooch Bros. A Co. most of the time since coming here.
He is survived by his widow and live children; Melvin, Edwin, Erma Siegmund, Alberta and Cleo: two grandchildren; and five sisters: Mrs. Henry Moreling of Bellflower; Mrs. Louisa Eubank and Mrs. Gertrude Brandon of Xenia, Ohio; Mrs. Lovina Grubb of Lawrenceburg, lnd. ; Mrs. Henry Dawson of Guilford, Ind.
He was a member of the M. E. church and the Modern Woodman lodge.
