9 Nov 1945: Albert Sidney Dowding of Springfield Road, Eastbourne, and 4 soldiers pleaded guilty to stealing timber valued at £50, belonging to the War Department from Southease Bridge, on Oct 17. Ordered to pay fine of £10 each and allowed 28 days for payment.
13 Aug 1952: Arrested for being £35 in arrears of maintenance money to his wife. He is also the father of two children with a woman he is living with and a child with a third woman.
During August of 1957, a committal order was made against Albert Sydney Dowding, of 49 Queen's Crescent, for £163 18s, with costs of £2 2s 6d owed to Mrs E. M. Dowding of 25 Springfield Road, suspended on payment of £3 a week.
16 Dec 1959: Enjoined not to compete with former employer in coach business because had signed a non-compete agreement.
23 Aug 1960: Arrested for breaking injunction. Judges suspected he had wanted to keep an eye on a competing business, perhaps to have an informal hand in its direction, and was "sailing as close to the wind as he could".
