GEDCOM Note
BIRTH/CHRISTENING: FHL film 0278169, Naesodden, Akershus, Norwy. Page 44, #39. Parents Otter Hansen and Andrine Olsdatter. His name given as Andreas Hagbart. Sponsors were Tehe Comsinsdatter, Kjærnes, Karen Christiansdatter, ibid; Johannes Hansen from Christiania and Olaus Christiansen, Kjærnes. Gives his name as Andreas instead of Albert. This is also the name that was on the 1865 census for Sinsen along with the initial H. and Andreas was given on the emigration list from Oslo. On all information I have found in the U.S. he is listed as Albert. But I find his brother and sister under their names. Father changed to Otto from the Otter on his birth records and on his son's birth records. And Andrine became Andrea on later records.
Imigrated to U.S.A. in 1880. Said he left Norway 9 years before that. Believe he was in Canada. Married twice. Ist marriage was in my line. Marriage Cert. # 295 from Duluth, St.Louis, Minnesota, Book 1, Page 295.
First papers taken out in Duluth, St. Louis, Minnesota, 28 April 1881. Says he born about 1855 and landed in Duluth in May of 1880. Final papers in Wisconsin. Papers now at public libraries in Duluth and Superor. Naturalized 25 Feb. 1890 at Circuit Court, Douglas County, Wisconsin. Vol. A, p. 103. Index at Superior Public Library.
DEATH: Vol. 14, #687 on file at Douglas County Court House, Superior, Douglas, Wisconsin. I have a copy. Buried in Blk 17 at Greenwood. Gravestone has Albert H. In the same block there are buried besides his 2nd wife two men named James C. Hansen. One was born in 1918 and one in 1881. Also a woman named Grace M born in 1887. I have no idea who these are.
BIRTHPLACE: From 1865 census for Østre Aker District 341, Gard Sinsen. Census has Vestre Sindsen, but Dag Jarnøy says it is gard #83 in Aker in Akerhus and the name is Sinsen. They lived on the Vestre (west) part of this gard.
