Saturday May 15, 1976 newspaper article: Open House to Honor Albert Lang....An Open House honoring Albert Lang, on his 80th birthday will be held, Saturday evening from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Second Ward Cultural Hall, 166 So. Main in St. George, Utah. There will be program and dancing. Everyone is invited. No gifts please.
Albert Lang was born May 11, 1896, in St. George to George Baker Lang and Laura Ann Liston. Educated in Washington County Schools. He was the first soldier drafted from Washington County in World War I, serving two years in France.
Albert was a farmer most of his life, working some for state roads, back when roads were built with a pick and shovel. Albert married Zella Hall, December 20, 1925, they had seven children. She died December 21, 1943, following an operation. Children, Veral (deceased), Mrs. Lloyd (Valda) Slack, Boulder City, Nevada, Grant, Las Vegas, Nevada, Wayne, Riverton, Utah, Delmer, Glenn and Mrs. Grant (Lola) Cox, St. George. 29 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren.
