PROTECTION --- Albert C. Schultz, 89, died Dec 21, 1983, at Protection Valley Manor, after a short illness. Born Sept. 16, 1894, at Dundee, he married Karolyn Ratzlaff July 21, 1917, at Coldwater. She died May 17, 1978. He had been a retired farmer and rancher and a Protection resident since 1923.

He was a member of Mennonite Church, Protection.

Survivors: sons, Eldon, Coldwater; John and Wilmer, both of Albany, Ore.; daughters, Marie Selzer, Sharon Springs; Elsie Knabe, Albany, Ore.; brothers, Ed, Buhl, Idaho; John, Meno, Okla.; Jake, Alva, Okla.; Elmer, Albuquerque, N.M.; sisters, Lizzie Ewy, Weatherford, Okla.; Lena Zielke, Reedly, Calif.; Mabel Schenk and Nina Young, both of Coldwater; Marie Jantz, Marshall, Okla.; Lucinda Wedel, Moundridge; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church; the Revs. Robert Croyer and Robert Weeks. Burial at Mennonite Cemetery, Protection. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater. Memorials to Comanche County Hospital, Coldwater.
