GRANGEVILLE -- Rosary will be recited for Albert Stolz, a longtime Grangeville resident, at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter and Paul Church at Grangeville.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter and Paul Church. Burial will follow at the Greencreek Community Cemetery.
Stolz died Wednesday January 12, 2000 at the Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Grangeville of causes related to age. He was 93.
He was born at Greencreek, Idaho, the son of Edwin T. and Mary Terhaar Stolz Nov. 16, 1906. He attended school at Greencreek.
As a young man he worked in Pomeroy, Nezperce and Slate Creek.
He married Pauline Ross Nov. 7, 1934, and they settled on a farm near Ferdinand.
In 1944 they moved to a farm outside Grangeville and some years later he went to work for Stegner Grain Company as a warehouseman.
When his health would no longer permit that type of work, he became a field man for the Idaho County Assessor's Office and retired in 1969.
Stolz was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Grangeville. His hobbies included reading, leather work, and rug making, and he was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include his wife at Grangeville; three daughters, Cleone White of Milwaukee, Ore., Valetta Varon of Arvada, Colo., and Clarisse Austin of Carson City, Nev.; three sons, Laverne Stolz of Sandpoint, Wayne Stolz of Tacoma, and Glenn Stolz of Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Nellie Matthews of Boise and Marie Stewart of Lewiston; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
