About Albert D. Wright
The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Captain (Infantry) Albert D. Wright, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 30 July 1864, while serving with Company G, 43d U.S. Colored Troops, in action at Petersburg, Virginia. Captain Wright advanced beyond the enemy's lines, capturing a stand of colors and its color guard; was severely wounded.
