a poem written by her mother, Sarah Maria Fenner Maxson;
Had we never raised a stone,
to mark the lonely spot
where little Alda sleeps,
she would not be forgot.
For memory has has well engraved her life and death, and lonely grave.
Yet I love at the close of day to see her little grave
and read that she's in heaven
with Christ who died to save.
Then faith can almost see her there, with plummage such as angels wear.
