Alda Reeve

Salt Lake Tribune, The (UT) - July 16, 1993 Deceased Name: Alda Ekins Reeve FILLMORE--Alda Ekins Reeve, 78, died July 14, 1993 in Fillmore after a long illness.

Born November 4, 1914 in Provo, Utah to Adam L. and Lydia J. Ekins. Married the late Thomas A. Reeve November 23, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Attended Utah State University in Logan, majoring in home economics. Along with her husband, owned and operated El Capitol Motel for 28 years. Worked at Fillmore Hospital for over 10 years. Active in school and community organizations including PTA, Lions Club and Fire auxiliaries, Garden Club, and Sewing Club. Held both stake and Fillmore 3rd Ward church positions, serving in MIA presidency, Relief Society presidency, and teaching positions. Served with husband as an ordinance worker in the Manti LDS Temple. Rendered many hours of compassionate and community service.

Survived by children, Thomas Ross, Midvale; Mrs. Francis (Allene) Nicolai, Pleasantville, New York; Doyle Ekins, Orem; Mrs. Paul (Janiel) Carver, Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Walter Ekins, Hinckley; and Paul Ekins, Tooele.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 17, 1 p.m., Fillmore 3rd Ward Chapel. Friends may call Friday, 7-9 p.m. at Olpin Mortuary in Fillmore, and Saturday, 11:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial, Fillmore Cemetery.
