In 1876, at the age of 36, Alex left Poland for a much better life in the U.S. His wife and 2 small children followed soon afterwards. An infant was born to her and died en route at sea. Alex became a member of a religious society of St. Stanislaus Church in Winona, Minnesota, USA; an organization for Catholic men, called KOSTKA. The organization was founded in 1870 and has since disbanded. After living in Winona, Minnesota, USA for several years, Alex and Frances moved to a farm near Pine Creek, Buffalo County, Wisconsin, USA, near Fountain City, Wisconsin USA, were there other Children Laura, John, Joseph, and Victoria were born. In his later years, Alex had a Stroke, fell from a very high hay stack on his farm while using a hay fork, and broke his neck in the fall. he was 67 years old at the time of his death. He is buried in an unmarked grave at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Pine Creek, Wisconsin, USA.
