About Alethia Shaw
Alethia gave birth to daughter Hannah in 1784. These apparently led to Quaker charges against Alethia in 1787 - she was still unmarried at that point.
If FindAGrave is correct about dates, this is the same Alethia Peacock who was censured by the Quakers and who married William Shaw in 1813 in Clermont County Ohio, apparently her first marriage at age 49. Quaker records of the censure may contain a reference to the father of Hannah.
A Quaker record, possibly referenced from this web tree, describes the father of Alethia's child as "unknown Sever". Some research shows that there was a William Sever of about the right age who lived in Northampton, Burlington County, at about the right time, and that there do not seem to be other Sever choices that would serve. I have therefore concluded that this was the unnamed Sever described in the Quaker records.
