About Alex Esclamado
With his wife Lourdes, daughter of [Ramón Mitra], in 1961 he put up the 'Philippine News' in San Francisco. When martial law was declared in the Philippines in 1972, the paper published articles in opposition to the Philippine government. The paper ended its run in 2011. In 1989, he received the Philippine Legion of Honor. He co-founded the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) in 1997.
