About Alex Tybora
Winona Republican-Herald newspaper (19 Jan 1911): Alex Tybora Run Over and Killed by Milwaukee Train Near Chicago Great Western Crossing DROPS THRU COAL CAR HOPPER
Alex Tybora, fourteen year old son of Frank Tybora, 1000 East King street, was instantly killed by being run over by a freight train on the Milwaukee road two blocks west of the railway crossing of the Milwaukee and Great Western roads in the east end this morning about 8 o'clock. Young Tybora was alone at the time and was, it is supposed, picking coal out of an empty gondola coal car in the train, a flour sack and jacknife having been found beside the body. The boy was probably caught in the automatic mechanism of the car and got under the wheels of the train when it started. Death came instantly. One hopper of the gondola coal car was found open on investigation, and this leads to the theory that he fell through the hopper as he was starting to pick coal.
