About Alexander Campbell
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=8110937
Founder of the Restoration movement that led to the establishment of the Church of Christ. He is also the founder of Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia. Originally a Baptist, Alexander Campbell, and his father, Thomas Campbell began to discover flaws in what they were being taught biblically. As a result they began the Restoration Movement and founded what was then known as the Disciples of Christ. In later years Campbell's Disciple's of Christ converged with Barton W. Stone's Christian Church and led to the later founding of the Church of Christ. Campbell's name is synonymous with the Church of Christ and his followers are still referred to as "Cambellites" by critics of the Church today.
