About Alexander James Floyd
He enlisted in the New Zealand Army in World War 2 in 1941 in the 25th Infantry Battalion, Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force and served in Egypt. With the rank of Private he died of wounds in the Western Desert of Egypt on 22 Jul 1942. Service number: WWII 48367. He was buried in Heliopolis War Cemetery, Egypt - Plot 2. G. 4.
