I don't know but I suspect Alexander may have been married twice. https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MV6R-KB8 This has him with a wife named Rebecca but James and Harvey are named in the 1881 census.

I've seen his wife's name as Maria Rebecca/Abigail/Amelia Abbott. That being said, I believe his wife was Maria Abbott. I found a Rebecca Abbott but her death record has she was single at time of death. She died at Barrington Almshouse on Dec. 10, 1928. I suspect Rebecca and Maria were sisters.
