About Alexander Hanay
"This family story was found in the papers of Benjamin Randolpf Boggs, 1898-1899 on the Hanna Family, page 21, it states:
'Alexander Hannay through feuds and quarrels lost his lands in Sorbie (Scotland) and went to Ireland and was granted land for Castle Dublin. His son, John Hannay, last mentioned of Sorbie, and a relative of Robert, upon leaving Sorbie Castle went to live in Ellerslie, Scotland.'"
