About Alexander Henderson
Chalkey's book lists several property transactions that definitely refer to Alexander and Jane. Vol 3 420 May 18, 1765 Sold 320 acres on South Branch Shenandoah that was adjacent to David Henderson and purchased from him on Jun 18, 1753. Vol 3 350 Mar 17, 1757 purchased 100 acres on South Branch Shenandoah at "Red Banks" which was then sold May 17, 1762 Vol 3 380. Vol 3 340 Aug 18, 1757 sold 265 acres on Long Meadow Run adjacent to Samuel Henderson originally purchased from George Hutchinson on Feb 21, 1738.
The fact that Samuel and Alexander split the purchase of land from George Hutchinson suggests that they were probably close relatives. DNA also suggests a recent common ancestor. They were probably brothers but possibly cousins.
This profile has been disconnected from the Fordell Henderson line based on a detailed analysis of the known haplogroup of Chief Alistair Henderson and the fact that the MRCA between this line and the Fordell line is 5000 in the past. While the father of Alexander may be William Henderson, it cannot be William the son of Fordell.
