About Alexander Reid
ALEXANDER REID
Bogus Genealogy
At least seven pedigrees published by MyHeritage falsely claim that Alexander Reid, here treated, was the son of William Ninian Reid and his wife Jonet Hamilton. There is no such person as William Ninian Reid, although a man named Ninian Reid did if fact marry Jonet Hamilton. They were the parents of Alexander Reid, here treated. MyHeritage
Another two pedigrees published by MyHeritage correctly identify Alexander Reid, here treated, as the son of Ninian Reid and Jonet Hamilton, but all six pedigrees, and more beside, falsely identify him with another Alexander Reid, an Advocate in Aberdeen, who was killed in the battle of Justice Mills in Aberdeen on 13 September 1644. This last mentioned Alexander was actually the son of William Reid of Barra, an Advocate an Notary Public in Aberdeen, and his wife Marione Rolland.
