Company E, 12th SCVI - The Blair Guards
Died, February 7th, 1862, In McPhersonville Hospital, near Pocataligo, A.T. Small, son of Joel B. and Mary Small. The deceased was born June 1st, 1836. He was a member of the Volunteer Company, "Blair Guards," engaged in the deference of his country against an invading foe. In camp he contracted the disease which terminated his mortal life. In his sickness he expressed a perfect resignation to the will of God in the enjoyment of a blessed hope of a glorious immortality through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
