MEMORIAL PHOTOS 1 FLOWERS 1 Alfred (Shorty) Ellis, 75, of Mc Ghee's Mill Road, died from a farming accident on Friday, November 28, 2003. He was born in Durham County to the late Levi and Mary Teasley Ellis. He was retired from the North Carolina National Guard, with 21 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Ivy Ramos Ellis of the home; four children, Janis Ellis Cyrus and husband, John, of Youngsville, Ronnie Brett Ellis and wife, Nancy, of Bahama, Edwin Ellis of Bahama, Kathy Ellis Gunn and husband, Cray, of Carrboro; one step-son, Jeremy Ramos of the Philippines, two grandchildren, Janessa Cyrus and Leigh Ellis; and one brother, Van Ellis of Bahama.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at the Ellis Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating.
