About Alfred Irvin Sheppard, Sr.
Alfred I. Sheppard, 64, died at his home in Benton Saturday. A native of Grant County, he had lived in Benton 21 years, and was employed by the Gingles Bankrupt Store. He was a Missionary Baptist. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Stamps Sheppard of Monroe, Louisiana, and Alfred I. Sheppard Jr. of New Mexico; six daughters, Mrs. Virgie Kerr and Mrs. Lucille Guerrieri of California, Mrs. O'Neal Clark, Mrs. Neoma McAllister and Mrs. James Turbyfill of Little Rock and Mrs. Margie Edgins of Benton; three brothers, Gus Sheppard of California, Arch Sheppard of Poyen and D. E. Sheppard of New Mexico; three sisters, Mrs. Ada Sheppard of Sheridan, Mrs. Alice Henson of Little Rock, and Mrs. Elma Mooney of Prattsville; and a grandchild. Funeral was at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Earl McCallister and Rev. Corbet Mask. burial was by Ashby Funeral Service.
