Known to have been in the service during World War II and stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington. After the service he spent a decade as a meat cutter at the Sibley Meat Packing Plant, and worked as a public servant, living up to the slogan "Whether snow, sleet, rain, or sunshine, the mail must go through".
