Dateline-Deerfield, NH Alice E. French, 75, died October 1, 2014 at the Elliott Hospital, Manchester, NH. She was born March 15, 1939 in Deerfield, NH, daughter of the late Waldo and Beatrice (Smith) Twombly. Alice lived the majority of her life in Deerfield, NH. She married Robert C. French on September 26, 1958. Alice and generations of her family were active with the Deerfield Fair Association. She enjoyed gardening, farming her horses, then cows, then pigs. In her younger years, she loved spending summers in Ossipee, NH. Alice was predeceased by her husband on December 3, 1995, and 2 brothers, Lawrence and Evert Twombly. She is survived by her son, Robert C. French Jr., daughter, Gerri Chauvette, 2 grandsons, Robert French III and Joseph French, a great-grandson, Dylan French, 4 sisters, Ellinor Davis, Elizabeth Fyan, Edith Kimball, and Priscilla Foss, 2 brothers, David Twombly and Wally Twombly, nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond, NH.
