About Alice Shaeffer Hoffer

5 Oct 1964: Mrs. Christian K. Hoffer, Lebanon RD 5, suffered a fatal coronary occlusion Sunday night on her way to visit her daughter. The attack came just as she had parked in front of the home of her daughter Mrs. Lloyd V. Edris, Lebanon RD 5. Mrs. Hoffer, the former Alice Light, was a member of First Evangelical Congregational Church, Lebanon, the Women's Missionary Society of the church and the Ever Ready Class of the Sunday school. She was a member of Chapter 115. Order of Eastern Star, Lebanon, a member and the historian of Chapter 131, Order of Amaranth; a member of the Auxiliary to the Knights Templar and the Tiberias White Shrine, Reading. She also held membership in the Lebanon County Flower Club, the Society of Farm Women, Group 15, and the auxiliary to the Ebenezer Fire Company. She was a daughter of the late Harry W. and Mary Schaeffer Light. Surviving are her husband, her daughter Dorothy, wife Lloyd V. Edris, Lebanon RD 5, a son Harold L. Hoffer, Lebanon RD 4; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Mrs. Ada S. Noll, Lebanon, and the following half-brothers and half sisters: Mrs. Barbara Neidig and Gettle Light, Lebanon; Mrs. Mary Michael, Lancaster; Otto Light and Mrs. Inda Brown, Schaefferstown, and Mrs. Betty Miller, Mrs. Ruth Doster, Mrs. June Doster and Gene Light, all of Jonestown, and a number of nieces and nephews.
