Alice Kathyrn Imbs

"The Buffalo News", Buffalo, NY, 31 March 2002: A Mass of Christian Burial for Kathryn Imbs will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 5480 Main St., Williamsville. Burial will be in Williamsville Cemetery.

Mrs. Imbs died Monday (March 25, 2002) in her Amherst home after a long illness. She was 86.

Born Kathryn Mengle in Rochester, she moved to Buffalo as a child during the 1920s. She graduated from Bennett High School and North Park Business School.

A homemaker, Mrs. Imbs was a member of St. Ann's Sodality and Consolata Women's Guild. An avid bridge player for more than 50 years, Mrs. Imbs also enjoyed music, gardening and knitting. "Most of all, she was just a wonderful mother," said her son Robert of Getzville.

Other survivors include two daughters, Katherine White of Shavertown, PA, and Barbara Barone of Garden Grove, Calif.; two other sons, Thomas Jr. of Williamsville and Peter of Rhonert Park, Calif.; two sisters, Marie Sheedy of Tallahassee, Fla., and Eleanor Price of Williamsville; a brother, Jay Mengle of Corpus Christi, Texas; and five grandchildren
