Listed as "Alcy" in McMinn, TN Census of 1850 (living with John Rutherford and three of their adult children, Matilda, Mahala, and John). James Henry Rutherford ("Harry") lived next door with his family, and Joseph Rutherford, with his wife Eveline, lived on the other side.

Notes for Joseph Robinson Rutherford:

Joseph was a school teacher and lived in the Jesse Elliott household. Information on Catherine's death came from a statement from him when he gave an affidavit that Catherine and Thomas were married. Their marriage record had been destroyed by fire. Thomas was blind by 1860 and applied for Jasper's pension who was killed in the Civil War. Information from Michele Reynolds who is also researching this line. 10/2000
