Alice Brewster Sturtevant, 88, of Greenacre Avenue, who was active in club circles, died Saturday in Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Born in Springfield, she was a graduate of the former Central High School and Wellesley College in Boston. She moved to Longmeadow in 1934.

She was a member of First Church of Christ. She was a member of the Springfield Wellesley Club, the Atalanta Club, the Longmeadow Country Club and the Longmeadow Gardeners.

She also was a member of the Junior League of Springfield and the Massachusetts Audubon Society.

Her husband, Windsor Sturtevant, former president of the Mutual Insurance Agency in Springfield, died in 1979.

She leaves two sons, Brewster of Longmeadow and Windsor T. of Mountainview, Calif., and four grandsons.

A private graveside service will be in Longmeadow Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Dickinson-Streeter Funeral Home, Springfield, is in charge.
