About Alice Cornelia Whitney
Alice Cornelia Thaw was an American philanthropist and, upon her marriage to George Seymour, Earl of Yarmouth (who later succeeded as 7th Marquess of Hertford), the Countess of Yarmouth.
Thaw was born on January 2, 1880 to William Thaw, Sr. and Mary Sibbet Copley. She was the younger sister of Harry Kendall Thaw.
On April 27, 1903 she married George Seymour, Earl of Yarmouth, eldest son of Hugh Seymour, 6th Marquess of Hertford, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Their marriage was annulled in 1908 on the grounds of non-consummation.
In 1913 she married Geoffrey George Whitney, Sr.
Thaw died on May 8, 1955.
