McLANE & CAPITOLA GLAZNER, 1977</p><p><p></p></p><p><p>p. 41 - BETTS, Allen R. of Wilburn, Ark. was born in 1839 at Center (?), Elmore Co., Ala., the son of John Betts born at Center, Elmore Co. Ala. and Anilee Holly. Subject was educated in Alabama, was a Democrat, and a Missionary Baptist. Enlisted in Co. A, 34th Ala. at Center, Ala. Mar. 7-1862 - July 1865 in Manayas Brigade and Polks Division. Was in battles at Mumfordsville, KY, Murfreysboro, Tenn, Missionary Ridge, was taken prisoner at Missionary Ridge. Name of wife not recorded. Children and spouses were listed. Nothing recorded for places of residence. Certified by J.W. Duke, Assessor of Cleburne Co., Ark. 7/12/1912</p><p><p></p></p><p><p>Allen mustered in March 26, 1862 in the 34th Alabama Infantry, Company A. He was officially enlisted in service in Coosa County, Alabama on May 26, 1862. On 1880 Sharp County, Arkansas census, Lebanon Township, SD 2, Ed 189, p. 106, household 129-134.</p><p><p></p></p><p>On 1900 Cleburne County, Arkansas census, Pine Township, SD 2, ED 18, sheet 4A, p. 258A, household 70-73. On Cleburne County, Arkansas census, Pine Township, ED 12, sheet 7B, p. 138, household 53-53 - census says married 18 years?? - maybe should be 8 years as she is not listed on 1900 census with Allen.
