The census shows the following: Allen, age 27, male, $2 00 real estate owned, born in Indiana; Mary A., age 23, female, bor n in Tennessee; Margaret J., age 6, female, born in Tennessee; Mary A ., age 4, female, born in Tennessee; Sarah E., age 2, female, born i n Tennessee; and Eliza, age 1, female, born in Tennessee. They move d to Campbell County, Tennessee where Mary died several years later l eaving five children, Margaret J., Mary A., Sarah E., Eliza A., and W illiam.</p>mpbell Cou nty, Tennessee, Ruth Miller, who died four years later. Both of he r children died in infancy.</p>unty, Tennessee. They had eleven children o f whom seven lived to maturity. About 1858, the family moved to Gent ry County, Missouri. The 1860 Federal Census taken June 15, 1860 sho ws Allen as livingin Township No. 62, Gentry County, Missouri with t he postoffice being Island City, Missouri. Allen is shown to be 37 y ears old, male, farmer, $540 of value of Personal Estate, born in Ind iana; Catharine, age 24, female, born in Tennessee, Margaret, age 14 , female, born in Tennessee, Mary, age 13, female, born in Tennessee ; Sarah, age 12, female, born in Tennessee; Eliza, age 10, female, bo rn in Tennessee; James, age 2, male, born in Tennessee; and Matilda , age 4/12, female, born in Missouri.</p>ibed as the Southeast Quarter of Section 1, Township 7 North, Range 12 East, McWilliams Precinct, Otoe County, Nebraska and moved onto it in 1864. The property included 240 acres o f improved and carefully cultivated, arable land and a very fine resi dence of recent contruction.</p>ing 45 and Catherine being 29 years of age. Three of Mary's five children were listed : Mary, Sarah and Eliza, all born in Tennessee and ages 20, 17 and 1 6 respectively. The oldest daughter, Margaret, was not mentioned and probably married. The son William had probably died. Three of Cat herine's children were listed: James F., Matilda and Martha E., age d 7, 5 and 2 years respectively. The youngest daughter had been born in Nebraska. Allen served on a jury in the fall of 1865.</p>es and ha put up 10 ton s of hay.</p>his livestock valued at $450 consisted o f 2 horses, 2 milch cows, 2 other cattle and one hog.</p>o of which he sold, located in the no rtheast corner of his farm for a cemetery to the North Baptist Churc h in Delta, now known as Lorton. The Congregation disbanded and th e Church was torn down about 1909. This left the Delta Baptist Churc h Cemetery without a sponsor. The Otoe County Commissioners are now responsible for its maintenance and upkeep.</p>e near Lorton, April 12, 1 901, after a lingering illness. She was survived by her husband an d seven children. After the death of his wife, Allen lived for abou t five years with his son Frank, also known as James Franklin, near L orton. Then he went to Oskaloosa, Kansas, to live with his daughte r Martha, the wife of Timothy Payne. There he died on February 22, 1 907, at the age of 87. He is buried along side his third wife Cather ine in the Cememtery at Lorton. He was a republican and a member o f the Baptist Church which he and his wife had joined in Tennessee.</p>was printed in The Nebraska City News on F riday, March 1, 1907:</p>s. The year of 1822 i s used by this researcher because if Allen was the fourth child of Ja mes and Mary who were married in 1816 there would have had to be a mu ltiple birth for him to have been born in 1819.</p>
