Frame, aged veteran of the Indian wars remembers way back when he freighted wool into Billings from Lewistown….Mr. Frame…joined the Army in September, 1876, at Chicago, and was immediately assigned to troop K, Second United States cavalry, at Fort Laramie, Wyo. For some time he was engaged to escort duty for emigrants from Cheyenne into the Black Hills. In 1886, the veteran was with Gen. Nelson Miles in the famous drive on the noted Apache chief, Geronimo. He helped build Fort Maginnis in Fergus county and later engaged in ranching and mining for the last 44 years. He has recently been in Sheridan, Wyo., where he visited Mrs. J.[sic] W. Close.”]
