Alma Staria Smith

The Sioux City Journal, Monday, February 10, 1986 SHELDON, Iowa—Mrs. Wayne J. Smith, 78, of Sheldon died Sunday at her home in Sheldon.

Services were held at St Patrick's Catholic Church in Sheldon. Monsignor Thomas Donahoe officiated. Burial was in St Patrick's Cemetery. The rosary was recited three times by the Legion of Mary, by the parish and by Catholic Daughters of America and Guild in the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

Mrs. Smith, the former Alma Honkomp, was born Nov 21, 1907, in Ashton. She married Wayne J. Smith Nov. 24, 1942 in Sheldon.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Joan) Dunn of Sheldon; a son, Jim of Minneapolis; five sisters, Mrs. Stacia Engela and Mrs. Larry (Esther) Gloden, both of Sheldon, Mrs. Eva Strouth of Ashton, Mrs. Margaret Greene of McLean, Va., and Mrs. A.D. (Stella) Davis of Minneapolis; two brothers, Leonard and Norbert, both of Ashton; and two grandchildren.
