Son of Thomas Marsh (born Oct. 24, 1784 in Mass.), and Damaris Baker (born Aug. 29, 1784 in Windham County Vermont, and died Sept. 12, 1854 in Buchanan, Berrien County Michigan). Thomas Marsh and Damaris Baker were married in 1805, in Ware, Hampshire County Massachusetts. --------------------------------- Thomas and Damaris Marsh were buried in the Kathryn Park Cemetery (a.k.a. "McCoy Cemetery" or "The Old Burying Ground"), with their son Elbridge Marsh. The remaining headstones found there (after the cemetery was ordered vacated), were later moved to the Oak Ridge Cemetery, in Buchanan, MI.

Son of Ira D. Pitcher and Melissa Miner. d. 1943. Buried: Oak Ridge Cemetery (Section 2, Lot 29, with Wallace, and her parents).

The following obituary for Alonzo Marsh was published in the "Buchanan Record" newspaper, in Buchanan, Michigan on Friday, March 23, 1906, page 2, column 4:

Alonzo Marsh was born in Cattaraugus County, New York, March 27, 1823, and died of pneumonia at Buchanan, March 22, 1906. Aged 82 years, 11 months, and 25 days. He moved with his parents to Michigan in the year of 1845, and settled on the old homestead about a mile southeast of Buchanan [in Section 1, of Bertrand township], where he lived the greater part of his life. He married Euretta C. Hathaway, September 6, 1849, by whom he had six children, three sons and three daughters, of whom Thomas A., of his [this] vicinity survives him. His wife dying Feb. 1860, he was married a second time to Leah R. Shook, Feb. 22, 1862, by whom he had four children, one son, and three daughters, of whom one daughter, Mrs. Nettie Lister of this place [Buchanan], is still living. His second wife passed from this life Aigust 29, 1891. Mr. Marsh was a man of strictly temperate habits, industrious and of a quiet disposition. He will be missed by a large circle of friends. Funeral services will be held at the Advent Christian church, Sunday, at 2:30 p.m. Elder Chas. A. Shook officiating.
