About Alvera H. Fuller

Alvera H. Fuller, 84, of 3826 Chatten Court, died at 10:02 a.m. Tuesday (June 12, 2012) in St. Vincent's Home. She was born Aug. 15, 1927 in Quincy, a daughter of Frederick W.G. and Amanda E. Thomas Miller. She married Clarence G. Fuller on April 23, 1949, in Burton. He died Nov. 6, 1976. Alvera was a Quincy High School graduate and attended Gem City College. She worked at Montgomery Ward, but primarily she was a mother and a homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, and sewing and crocheting, which she passed down to her granddaughters. Alvera was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include four sons, Richard Fuller, Jim (Mary) Fuller, Mark Fuller and Rex (Terri) Fuller, all of Quincy; one daughter, Beth (Brad) Mathews of Davison, Mich.; nine grandchildren, Nikki (Brian) Baucom, Chad (Christy) Fuller, Christopher (Leslie) Fuller, Jacqueline (Scott) Schutte, Patrick Fuller, Bryan Mathews, Jared (Tara) Mathews, Andrew Fuller and Brandy Fuller; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Floyd Miller of Ohio. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Clarence Fuller; five brothers, Virgil, Paul, Ralph, Fred and Mack Miller; and three sisters, Violette Miller, Margaret Louise Koren and Selma Miller. SERVICES: 11 a.m. Monday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Pastor Brandon Jones conducting. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park Cemetery. VISITATION: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. MEMORIALS: Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Salvation Army or donor's choice. ARRANGEMENTS: Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
