Alvin Barton, son of Jonathan Barton and Hannah Dix, was born Sept. 15,1793 in Whitingham, Windham Co., Vermont. He married with BETSEY COLE, dau. of Benjamin Cole and Martha Wightman on May 11, 1817 in Bolton, Warren Co., New York.

Alvin is the author of the unpublished personal family history that lists so much information about the Jonathan Barton family.
