About Alvin J. Zimmerly
WOOSTER -- Alvin J. Zimmerly, 79, Wooster, passed away, Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Wooster Community Hospital following a sudden illness.
A private family interment has take place. There will be no services. Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster is honored with serving the family.
He was born on Dec. 4, 1933, in Kidron to John A. and Helen M. (Weuthrick) Zimmerly and has been a Wayne County resident all of his life. He previously served in the Army National Guard for six years and worked as a welder with Volvo of Orrville, from where he retired after many years of service.
He is survived by his children, Robert "Bob" (Linda) Zimmerly of Wooster, Bonnie S. Sears of Gilmore and Howard D. (Cynthia "Cindy") Zimmerly of Wooster; three granddaughters, Christie Morrison, Catherine Sears and Suzette Brown; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Ellis Zimmerly of Wooster; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant son; two brothers and four sisters
