The 1900 census shows Amanda living in a household with sibling Carrie as head of household and sibling Amelia, known to future generation as "Aunt Mier". The residence is listed in the 6th precinct, 2212 St. Louis St. It appears that the siblings are living with their older sister Ida and her husband Henry Lohse who lists his birthplace as Germany. The record shows Amelia for the first time, born in 1884.
