Amanda "Mandy" Elizabeth Staggs

Mandy Lee Staggs was born March 10, 1872, to James & Frances Christian Lee. She died November 16, 1942. Funeral services for Mrs. Mandy Elizabeth Staggs, 70, who died at General Hospital in Nashville Monday night following a two weeks' illness, were held yesterday afternoon at the Free Will Baptist Church here. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Staggs was born and educated in Wayne County, but moved to Columbia shortly after her marriage. About 10 years ago she moved to Nashville with her children. Her husband, John Ephram Staggs of Wayne County died two years ago. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Laura Wirsching of Nashville and Mrs. J. E. Roberts of Saginaw, Michigan, four sons, Clarence, Hiram and Marion Staggs of Nashville and Lester Staggs of Birmingham, Alabama; one brother, George Lee of Columbia; 28 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
