About Amanda Schlabach

WINESBURG -- Amanda Schlabach, 88, of Winesburg, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home in Walnut Creek, after a period of declining health.

She was born in Hartville on Dec. 1, 1924, to the late David and Katie Ann (Sommers) Troyer and married Emanuel A. Schlabach on Oct. 11, 1947. He survives.

She was a member of Longenecker Mennonite Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are daughters, Mabel Schlabach and Leona (Ted) Miller, both of Winesburg; grandchildren, Lynnette (Scott) Killy of Toledo, Brenda (Mark) Pope of Dundee, Denise (Chris) Bortnik of Warrendale, Pa., and Kristine Miller of Winesburg; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Phineas, Phoebe, Lila, Peter, Mabel, Easton, Nadia, Braden and Jane; a sister, Lucinda Yoder of Wooster; brothers, David (Anna) Troyer of Berlin, Raymond (Ila) Troyer of Beach City and Mennasses (Carol) Troyer of Louisville; and a brother-in-law, Mose Schlabach.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Susanna Troyer and Alta Schlabach; and brothers, Noah and Vernon Troyer.

Family graveside services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Longenecker Mennonite Church Cemetery. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. at Longenecker Mennonite Church, with pastor Scott Killy officiating.

Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the church. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton, is handling arrangements. A memorial website is available at www.spidellfuneralhome.com where you may sign a guest registry
