WIFE OF SWISS CONSUL DIES

Mrs. Amelia A. Freuler, wife of John Freuler, Swiss consul here, died suddenly yesterday at the Alta Bates sanitarium in Berkeley, where she was taken a few days ago to undergo an operation.

Mrs. Freuler, who was 74 years of age, was a native of Wisconsin but had lived in the bay district since childhood, having accompanied her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Miller, to California just before the Civil War. For the last 50 years she had made her home in Berkeley, moving there from San Francisco. Her husband has represented the Swiss government here as consul for 30 years.

Surviving are the husband and five children, Clara and Olive Freuler and Mrs. Homer Norris, of Berkeley; Arthur Freuler, of Walnut Creek, and Mrs. Emil Cykler, of Los Angeles.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at 3:30 p. m.

Funeral Held for Swiss Consul's Wife

Funeral services were held today for Mrs. Amelia Adeline Freuler, 74, wife of John Freuler, Swiss consul in San Francisco. Mrs. Freuler died Saturday at the Alta Bates sanitarium, Berkeley, following an operation. Interment was in Mountain View cemetery.

Mrs. Freuler is survived by her husband, four daughters and a son. The children are Clara and Oliver [Olivia] Freuler, Mrs. Homer Norris of Berkeley, Mrs. Emma Cykler of Los Angeles, and Arthur Freuler of Walnut Creek.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Nov 23 2023, 0:26:43 UTC
